New York Andaz 5th Avenue Hotel
Andaz 5th Avenue
485 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10017 – Telephone: (212) 601-1234
Situated in the historic Rogers Peet Building, the newly-opened Andaz 5th Avenue is noted for being located in the heart of Manhattan within walking distance of the New York City Public Library and Bryant Park. And true to its infamous brand, Andaz 5th Avenue features upscale accommodations that include perks such as the Good Morning Sunshine breakfast deal and the Pride Welcome Package.
Guests will appreciate the Tony Chi-designed décor at Andaz 5th Avenue with its residential-style rooms, flexible studios for corporate functions and farm-to-table restaurant. The 184-room (including 36 one and two-bedroom suites) hotel is marked by a décor that features grey basalt floors and a neutral palette of black- and white-washed poplar paneling. There’s also plenty of meeting and event space, with the second floor being of note since it was configured into several rooms with an open, communal kitchen as the central gathering point in addition to containing a couple of open-plan galleries, courtyard, bar and den.
Ideal for both business and leisure travelers, Andaz 5th Avenue offers visitors a unique hotel experience in that there’s no check-in desk (rather, an Andaz host will checks in guests at their own pace, over a drink in the lounge or on the way to their room). Other anomalies here include open spaces, open kitchens, and residential style furniture that will add an at-home feeling to your visit. While you stay at the hotel you must stop by the excellent “Bar in the Cellar” lounge, a seductive lair underneath the hotel that’s noted for its exquisite dishes and seasonal cocktails. The 80-seat bar features tall communal tables, banquettes and lounge seating.
